Cuban Style Pressed Sandwiches

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 oz. sliced deli roast pork loin or deli smoked ham
  • 4 long thin slices dill pickles
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
 

DIRECTIONS

    Combine mayonnaise, mustard and hot sauce; mix well. Spread evenly over cut sides of rolls.

    Layer 1 slice cheese, half of pork, 2 pickles and 1 slice cheese over bottom of both rolls. Close sandwiches with tops of rolls.

    Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add sandwiches to skillet; turn to coat with butter. Place another skillet on top of sandwiches; place several canned goods in skillet to form a weighted press. Cook 3 to 4 minutes or until bottoms are golden brown. Remove skillet, turn sandwiches. Replace skillet with weights and continue to cook 3 to 4 minutes or until browned on both sides and cheese is melted.
