Cuban Style Pressed Sandwiches
INGREDIENTS
- 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
- 1 Tbsp. coarse grained mustard
- ¼ tsp. hot pepper sauce or more to taste
- 2 Cuban rolls (oblong soft rolls about 5 inches x 3 inches), split*
- 4 slices Sargento® Natural Blends™ Deli Style Sliced Cheddar-Mozzarella Cheese
- 4 oz. sliced deli roast pork loin or deli smoked ham
- 4 long thin slices dill pickles
- 2 Tbsp. butter
DIRECTIONS

Combine mayonnaise, mustard and hot sauce; mix well. Spread evenly over cut sides of rolls.

Layer 1 slice cheese, half of pork, 2 pickles and 1 slice cheese over bottom of both rolls. Close sandwiches with tops of rolls.

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add sandwiches to skillet; turn to coat with butter. Place another skillet on top of sandwiches; place several canned goods in skillet to form a weighted press. Cook 3 to 4 minutes or until bottoms are golden brown. Remove skillet, turn sandwiches. Replace skillet with weights and continue to cook 3 to 4 minutes or until browned on both sides and cheese is melted.
